* DemonicPossession: Omigosh possesses [[spoiler:Maria]]'s body in episodes two and three.
* EasterEgg: Several:
** Episode one has hidden inscriptions in each level (usually humorous) which give you points for finding them. One of them claims that its reader will be "stricken with the curse of baldness". Sure enough, as soon as Al walks away from it, his hat falls off and he's bald. For the rest of the game, Al's hat will occasionally fall off, and you can't finish the level without picking it up. Once you beat the episode, you get a message saying his hair has grown back.

!!Tropes in this game:

* GiantSpider: One of the main enemies in episode one. If one is prevented from moving (i.e. no empty spaces on any side of it), it explodes and clears out the surrounding tiles. This is necessary to solve a few puzzles.

That's right, Al gets killed and Devasco goes to Hell because a nearly powerless god was ''noisy''. At least Al comes back to life and ends up with Maria.]]
* TempleOfDoom: The game is set in one.

Totally rewriting the page since I\'ve figured out how to do so without spoiling the whole damn game. Work very much in progress.

The basic story is as follows: Alabama Smith is a well-respected archaeologist until [[LuridTalesOfDoom a tabloid newspaper runs a story accusing him of giving birth to twins]]. To restore his credibility, Al heads to Mexico, to the Aztec pyramid of Paganitzu (meaning "Temple of the Gods") to find the legendary Crystal Rose. At the end of episode 1, Al discovers the rose, but unfortunately [[NiceJobBreakingItHero he inadvertently releases]] [[EldritchAbomination an evil Aztec deity]] (known to the Aztecs as To'ku Paga, but he says Al may call him [[PunnyName Omigosh]]) [[SealedEvilInACan trapped inside it]]. The magic of the rose prevents Omigosh from killing Al, but he runs off to cause mayhem on the surface. Al [[TheAtoner resolves to find a way to defeat Omigosh]].

In the second episode, Al ventures deeper into Paganitzu in search of the Silver Dagger, which has the power to kill a god. Halfway through the episode he meets the Skull Oracle, who tells Al of all the havoc being wreaked by Omigosh. He warns Al not to use the dagger, saying instead to seek out the help of the Aztec wizard Devasco. Al must travel back in time to get Devasco, but there's one problem: you can't travel back in time unless you're dead. The Oracle offers to kill Al ("And I promise to be humane"), but Al refuses, deciding to continue searching for the dagger instead. When he reaches the dagger's chamber, he meets Omigosh again, who is now [[EvilIsSexy possessing the body of a beautiful Aztec woman]]. Al takes the dagger, but before he can use it, it flies from his hands and shoots straight into his chest. Omigosh tells the dying Al that only a powerful wizard can use the dagger, then leaves to continue his world conquest.

In the final episode, Al, now a ghost, sees that the pyramid is in fact [[WombLevel a living, flesh-and-blood being]]. With the help of various demons inhabiting the pyramid, Al makes his way back to the Skull Oracle, who after berating Al for not just accepting his help earlier, sends him back to 1591.

''Major unmarked ending spoilers below, read at your own risk''

Al meets a woman named Maria (whom he recognizes as the future vessel of Omigosh), but as a ghost, is still unable to speak to her. She takes him to her village, where he meets her father, the wizard Devasco. Devasco resurrects Al, who explains his predicament. Devasco agrees to help. He explains that Al will need to kill Omigosh's host body for Devasco to banish him, and that since the time-travel spell can only carry two people, Maria must remain behind. Al cannot bring himself to tell Devasco that his own daughter will be Omigosh's host. Devasco needs several days alone to prepare the time-travel spell. In the meantime, Al and Maria begin to grow close as she explains that the rest of the village has been captured or killed by the invading Spaniards. On their last night together, Maria takes Al to the top of Paganitzu and shows him the "Jewel of the Yucatan" - the Aztecs' name for the moonlight shining off the Yucatan river in the distance. Al confesses to Maria that she will be Omigosh's host and he will be forced to kill her in the future. A stunned Maria accepts this as necessary for the safety of the world. The next day, Al and Devasco travel back to 1991. Maria hides in Paganitzu, but is found by the Spaniards and murdered. Back in the present, Al and Devasco appear in the Skull Oracle's chamber. Devasco begins to prepare the banishing spell, becoming oblivious to everything else. Omigosh, possessing Maria's body, appears and taunts Al, who cannot bring himself to kill Maria. Omigosh casts a spell inflicting intense pain on Al, but Maria is able to forcibly exorcise Omigosh through [[ThePowerOfLove her feelings for Al]]. Maria falls unconscious. Devasco completes the banishment spell, opening a portal to the Nether-Hells, but Omigosh resists. Devasco [[HeroicSacrifice throws himself into the pit, taking Omigosh with him]]. As the portal closes, Maria wakes up and sees that the battle has been won. Al and Maria confess their love for each other, but Maria grieves for the loss of her father. The Skull Oracle, who had been sleeping this whole time, awakens and reveals that Omigosh was actually not even powerful enough to leave the pyramid, as [[GodsNeedPrayerBadly no one believes in him anymore]]. The Oracle lied to Al about all the horrible things he was doing on the surface, as [[ShaggyDogStory Omigosh was causing an awful lot of racket in the pyramid]]. Al muses that while he lost both the Crystal Rose and the Silver Dagger, he also fell in love with Maria, so his adventure wasn't a total loss. The Skull Oracle sends the couple back to the surface, but then Al realizes that [[OhCrap he lost his helicopter keys]]....
