* TranquilFury: SpongeBob has this when he thinks Patrick broke the toy he waited so long for,

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [=SpongeBob=], who tries to clean the ick off his bedroom floor, but gets it on himself instead and unintentionally spreads it at work.

[=SpongeBob=] finds a toy offer inside his box of Kelpo cereal. When he cashes the box-tops in, he finds out that he has to wait for his toy in the mail.

* {{Foreshadowing}}: Gary was interested in eating the ick off of the bedroom floor in the beginning of the episode. At the end of the episode, Gary eats the ick off of everyone in the Krusty Krab, which fittingly happens after Gary is looking for food in a dumpster outside of the Krusty Krab.

* NeverMyFault: Mr. Krabs blames Squidward for the ick spreading, followed by Squidward blaming [=SpongeBob=]. While it is true that [=SpongeBob=] was the initial cause for the ick spreading, Squidward and Mr. Krabs are also at fault for infecting the customers since they were serving ick-covered food to the customers, [[FailedASpotCheck but they somehow didn't notice the ick on the food even though it was so easy to notice.]]

* SickEpisode: Deals with [=SpongeBob=] with an "ick" sickness that spreads.

* FailedASpotCheck: Mr. Krabs and Squidward don't seem to notice the incredibly obviously large green fungi on the Krabby Patties and fries.

** If someone is responsible for spreading something, don't attack them physically or verbally.
