The episode begins with the body of a Navy Chief Petty Officer being discovered. Briscoe and Curtis determine that he was shot, and that he was a notorious womanizer. They also discover that his wife, who is an enlisted crewman is also in New York. Upon questioning, she admits to attacking him upon catching him with a woman, but claims that she left the scene immediately. They track down that other woman and find that it is Lieutenant Kristen Blair, the poster girl for female F-14 Tomcat pilots. The victim was assigned to her aircraft as ground crew.

The investigation later digs up facts about an illicit relationship between Lt Blair and the victim. They also discover that the victim had a long history of sexual harassment complaints that were swept under the rug. This leads to accusations that Lt Blair was harassed by the victim, others that she was stalking him. Ultimately, Blair admits to shooting him and covering up the fact, but claims self defense. To bolster that, she presents a cold, calculating and decisive persona to the jury. But a tape from her past just might undermine it all.
