"Tremas" is an obvious enough anagram for "Master", leading the viewer to think he's a baddie-- but he is a good man and a staunch ally of the Doctor throughout. Not shockingly, the name of "Tremas" was [[ExecutiveMeddling demanded]] by producer Creator/JohnNathannTurner Creator/JohnNathanTurner because actor Creator/AnthonyAinley, who played the character, would be playing the Master soon enough. Reflecting back on it, most of the cast think that it was a pretty silly reason for the name.
