Kyubey makes a contract with Homura, a shy girl desperate to save Madoka, and grants her TimeTravel powers, intending to use her tampering to transform Madoka into the most powerful witch of them all, and trying to bring their friends to despair to aid the process. In the timelines where it succeeds, it leaves humanity at her mercy while declaring that it no longer needs them. Within the last timeline, it manipulates Sayaka into becoming a witch, forcing Kyoko to MercyKill her]]. Whenever Kyubey is confronted about their atrocities, they always resort to victim-blaming to dodge responsibility. Even after being thwarted by Madoka, they refuse to give up.
