* ''{{WesternAnimation/Balto}}'' was originally going to end with Balto and [[BigBad Steele]] having one final battle after the former finally safely arrives in Nome with the diphtheria medicine instead of simply ending with everyone turning against Steele and branding him as an outcast after Balto's arrival finally exposes all of Steele's crimes in front of everyone, which had to be changed to the one seen in the actual movie due to it being too dark: while Balto and his friends are still celebrating his arrival and congratulating him as a hero, Steele, still very furious and wanting revenge on Balto for making the other dogs turn against him like in the actual movie, and subsequently discovering that Balto still alive the whole time, immediately arrives and plans to attack and kill Balto one last time. All of the other dogs then proceed to defend Balto, and one of Steele's henchmen, Star, immediately tears off Steele's collar and gives it to Balto instead, making Steele even more furious. Finally, Balto upon seeing Steele's loose collar in front of him, gives the evil dog said collar back and places it back on his neck, and tells Steele that he should keep the collar instead. As a result, Steele finally snaps and proceeds to attack Balto with the intent on killing him in front the entire village. Another battle between Balto and Steele then ensues, ending with Steele leaping at Balto to deliver the final blow that will lead to Balto's death, but Balto ducks and gets out of the way just in time, and as a result Steele is accidentally knocked into the lever used to activate a coal hatch, and getting his collar snagged onto it, and when Steele tries to lunge towards Balto to try to kill him again, he pulls the lever forward, causing his collar to start wrapping tightly around him and the hatch doors to open below him, causing him to choke on his own collar as the coal bin above finally begins to activate. And finally, once Steele finally stops breathing after being suffocated and goes limp, the coal bin drops an enormous pile of burning hot coal onto the evil dog, with the weight of all that coal crushing his now lifeless body and dropping him down to his death into the open chute below, and possibly burning what's left of Steele's body upon impact, and all that now remains of Steele is his own collar, still hanging onto the lever of the coal hatch. Obviously since the original ending depicting Steele's death would've been too terrifying to be shown to children, the ending was changed so that Steele instead survives and is merely branded as an outcast before mysteriously disappearing altogether, not even returning in any sequels nor do they ever mention him again.

* Gaston in ''WesternAnimation/BeautyAndTheBeast'' [[NotTheFallThatKillsYou was originally going to survive his fall]] from the castle, albeit with a broken leg, only to end up surrounded by the same wolf pack that the Beast saved Belle from earlier in the film (and being DevouredByTheHorde). This fate was deemed too gruesome even for him, so the final version limits it to a traditional DisneyVillainDeath.
