* WebAnimation/{{Eddsworld}}: While the main four/three characters manage to avoid this [[TheyKilledKennyAgain despite the various deaths they went through]] up until "Space Face", other characters were not so lucky:
** "[=MovieMakers=]" has Laurel, a girl introduced as part of the cast of the movies Edd and his friends were making, only for her to die via [[ItMakesSenseInContext a shoe hitting her in the back of the head]]. WordOfGod has indeed confirmed that she won't be coming back.
** [=WTFuture=] has Hellucard (a minor character who only says "Hey, Edd!" whenever he appears) killed by Future Edd. He doesn't appear in anymore episodes after this, with all his appearances afterwards being in the dubiously canon webcomics.
** "The End" has Jon, Tom's neighbor counterpart, killed by a missile from Tord's giant robot, dying in Eduardo's hands. TheStinger has him show up as a ghost, confirming his death.

* An in-universe example: any video game character who dies outside of their game in ''WesternAnimation/WreckItRalph'' is dead for good, as opposed to just respawning a moment later. True to Disney tradition, the only ones who actually ''do'' are the BigBad, Turbo, and several thousand Cy-Bugs.

Alphabetizing example(s), Crosswicking

* ''WebVideo/HeroHouse'' has a a shocking example, being one of the very few interpretations where Superman is killed off in the first episode!

** [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] in the "Heist" episodes of ''[[LetsPlay/AchievementHunterGrandTheftAutoSeries Let's Play Grand Theft Auto]] [[VideoGame/GrandTheftAutoV V]]'' series. Once a heist has officially started, if any member of the Fake AH Crew gets killed, he does not get to continue on with the Heist and gets no payment. This is further set up by having the crew member's audio muted and the footage focused on the remaining crew members for the remainder of the Heist.

* In ''WebVideo/SuburbanKnights'', there's actually a funeral pyre ''and'' ReallyDeadMontage to let the viewer know that Ma-Ti definitely will NOT be coming back.
* ''WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic'': [[Film/PatchAdams Dr. Bitch Spasms]], lampshaded in Nostalgia Critic's Top 11 Fuckups Part III.
-->'''Critic:''' I bet you thought he'd come in here and do something funny, but nope! I shot him! He's still lying there on my living room floor... I really should do something about that.
* ''WebVideo/VinesauceTomodachiLife'' has a lot of this.
** Those who are unambiguously dead include HOTDOG, Ghoul Cunt, Lolly, Toad, Levi, CD-i Link, Big Face, Balegdah, Jack & Jill, and Bub Skebulba (who are [[AssimilationPlot assimilated]] by the Jahns and subsequently driven away), as well as Wii Fit Trainer (who is evicted by Vinny under the Jahns' control; she's said to have been killed).
** The fate of several other islanders depend on whether or not you think "eviction" (''VideoGame/TomodachiLife'''s term for deleting an islander) [[ReleasedToElsewhere is a codeword for death]] (as implied by Wii Fit Trainer being "killed" by eviction, and Two-Faced being threatened with death during ''Survivor Edition''). If you do, then the count expands to include Bonzi, Dolan, Skelorita, Skeleton, Dheerse, Birdo, Broccoli, Two Faced, and Seabiscuit. This is notably ''averted'' with Music/DavidBowie; his Mii was definitely "released" after the real man died of cancer.

* In ''WebVideo/DreamSMP'', DeathIsCheap for the most part, but during the final battle of the L'Manburg Civil War, Jschlatt dies of a heart attack (or stroke, depending on who you ask) and Wilbur has Philza kill him as a SuicideByCop, and neither of them come BackFromTheDead. However, Wilbur did wind up coming back as an amnesiac ghost, and was eventually revived for real in Season 3.
** This was later [[{{Retcon}} explained]] by a "three canon lives" system, where deaths pivotal to character development and the plot (usually planned ahead of time) are considered "canonical" and thus subtracts the death from each character's canon life count, and people who lose all three of their canon lives are permanently deceased. However, exceptions have been made for this, with Tommy being brought BackFromTheDead using the book on revival during the lockdown of Pandora's Vault, and Jack Manifold dragging himself out of the Afterlife [[ResurrectionRevenge out of sheer vengefulness]] during the Doomsday War, giving him all three of his canon lives back. As a result of these special cases, the only characters who are dead and have stayed dead are Schlatt, [[SouthOfTheBorder Mexican Dream]], and Ranboo.

As back.

a result a shocking example, being one of these special cases, the very few interpretations where Superman is killed off in the first episode!
* ''WebVideo/LifeSMP'': In each season, every player is usually given three lives, usually combined with a certain gimmick.[[note]]Season 2 allows players to spawn in with anywhere from 2 to 6 lives, while Season 4 instead runs on a DeathsHourglass mechanism, with everyone having 24 hours and thus roughly 24 lives to start with.[[/note]] Everyone who loses their final life is put into Spectator mode,
only characters who are dead able to watch the rest of the DeadlyGame go on. By the nature of the series, nearly everyone dies by the end of each season.
* Many [=SMPs=] in the Minecraft Multiverse run on DeathIsCheap, with the respawn mechanism in play on an everyday basis, until a plot-relevant death occurs
and leaves the character ''permanently'' dead.
** In ''WebVideo/EmpiresSMP'' Season 1, other than an exorcism about halfway through the series that plays with the line between life and death, no one permanently dies until the CruelTwistEnding in the aftermath of the ApocalypseHow: Scott pulls a HeroicSuicide in an attempt to protect the already-ravaged world from his evil brother (by exploiting a CantLiveWithoutYou connection) and is seen ending up in a PersonalizedAfterlife, Pearl burns to death with her empire [[spoiler:and becomes an important PosthumousCharacter in Season 2]], and Joel is stated by WordOfGod at the start of Season 2 to
have stayed dead been KilledOffscreen via DeathByDespair.
** In ''WebVideo/PiratesSMP'', recoverable deaths
are Schlatt, [[SouthOfTheBorder Mexican Dream]], inevitable in a world of dangerous beasts and Ranboo.bounties, but {{Plotline Death}}s are generally marked out with cutscenes or are shown during server events, driving home that the character in question will not be returning.
