** There's the Confessional Arc where an amnesic Shigeshige becomes good friends with Katsura (who amazingly doesn't recognise him) and decides to become a Joui rebel with him. Even at the end when the two turn out to have realized the situation, they have a very FoeYay'y exchange about how the next time they meet [[spoiler:one will be dead but the other will create a new world]].

* Hasegawa hangs out a lot with Gintoki, especially if gambling or betting is involved... as such, their adventures often end with the two wearing nothing but their underwear.
** After a night of drunkenness in episode 239 , Gintoki discovers he's slept with six women and... Hasegawa (Madao). [[spoiler: It turns out to be one huge prank to get Gin to quit drinking. The twist at the end of episode 240 is that ''Hasegawa was the only one who wasn't in on it''. Yes, Gintoki/Hasegawa may have actually taken place in canon.]]
** Hasegawa always comes crawling to Gintoki for emotional support. One notable time is when he's been accused of sexual result and asks for Gintoki's help. Gintoki ends up coming to his trial as... his lawyer.

* Gintoki and Hijikata are constantly fighting and stuck with one another that many of their interactions come off as BelligerentSexualTension.

** Chapter 551,in which [[spoiler: the Shinsengumi had to leave Edo, we are treated with 3 moving farewell scenes: Kondo and his crush Otae, who is now treating him nicely, Okita and Kagura having a good ol' fight,... And Hijikata and Gintoki, sharing a meal together (each ''others''' special meals, to be exact) and having a good laugh.]]

* Sakamoto really, ''really'' likes Gin. To the point of making long life-affirming speeches about the future and the stars and how he can fly freely solely because Gin is waiting for him back on Earth. He even asked Gin to come into space with him in the past, although the question was promptly ignored. [[FridgeLogic Since Gin has no business sense whatsoever, just what was he planning on bringing him for?]] On Gintoki's side, Sakamoto is the only one he refers to by his first name (contrast with the way he addresses Takasugi and Katsura[[note]]to be fair Zura is his nickname, but the way Gin recognises him as "Zura Kotarou" when they first reunite suggests he basically sees Zura as his surname now,too[[/note]] whom he's known longer); and during the war when Sakamoto [[spoiler: got his right hand injured by Batou and could no longer fight as a swordsman]], Gintoki 1) comforted him, saying his battle as a samurai has not ended, and 2) sought after Batou for revenge. When they reunite in the Rakuyo Arc, Gintoki gets very pissed whenever Batou makes fun of Sakamoto and mentions the aforementioned incident. And what does Gintoki eventually do in their fight? [[spoiler:He stabs Batou specifically in his right hand, with flashbacks of an injured Sakamoto shown as he does it, making his revenge very sweet.]]

** There's also a bit in one chapter of the manga where Okita has a meltdown on a rollercoaster because he forgot to strap himself and is sent flying, and clings to Hijikata as he begs him to hold him because he's so scared.
* Amnesiac Kondo and Katsura become super best pals during a group date, and spend the entire time talking to each other. And ''singing'' to each other. The doujinshi artists had a lot of fun with that chapter.
** They had many touching moments together in the Farewell Shinsengumi arc.
* Some of Takasugi's troops are...exceptionally dedicated to him. The most obvious would probably be Nizou, who claims that he follows Takasugi because his presence is like an immensely beautiful, colourful light in the midst of a dark void.
* Bansai appears to harbour some very intense emotions towards Takasugi, going as far as to say that he [[http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3vtpKpuGq9U/VqIflBfx38I/AAAAAAADuWc/ZRjF4ugR5ZI/s0-Ic42/006.jpg promised to use his life for his sake.]] Another aspect worthy of pointing out is Gintoki's comment on how it's because of Bansai that Takasugi has been able to survive this long, noting that [[http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IK6rhtP_BLc/VisWhDXyGPI/AAAAAAABHqA/ctCt0ti5_Us/s0-Ic42/006.png Bansai has always been protecting Takasugi.]] All in all, a very [[LadyAndKnight Lady and Knight dynamic]]
* In episode 21, Gintoki grabbed a guy's crotch & held onto it for awhile. Considering what he was dressed like, you could say he was trying to Kappa feel.

* Speaking of men Gintoki somehow ended up in bed with, in the manga, in canon... In chapter 496, Gintoki & Kondou were in a futon out in the alley. Both were shirtless & snuggled up to eachother. Gintoki was smoking a cigarette, & they were talking about gorillas & bananas.

* There is also the childhood friends Otae and Kyuubei who more or less [[ChildhoodMarriagePromise promised each other as kids that they'd be together]]. They've become something of a FanPreferredCouple to the animators of the anime, who have put the two in every opening and always in some way that makes them look like a couple. On one hand, there is a lot of angst on Kyuubei's part as they are in love with Otae but believe IncompatibleOrientation is in effect, so their strongest wish is to be a guy but they also seem to like being a girl; and Otae is just a complete mystery orientation wise or what her feeling toward Kyuubei are (this becomes a plot point to the GenderSwap arc, in which Kyuubei does decide they want to be considered neither male or female, but the status of the two's relationship by the end is still unresolved.) On the other hand, they are the least unrequited of a series infamous for UnrequitedLove, as both characters enjoy hanging out with each other to the point that it's rare to see one without the other.

* Gintoki & Zenzou had a few moments. It doesn't help that Gintoki is a bit of a narcissist & that he & Zenzou have a lot in common, whihc could even be the reason Sarutobi likes Gintoki.
* Katsura & Shigeshige had some male bonding & some happy fun naked adventures.

* Zenzou arguably liked Shigeshige better than anyone else, very tight friends for guys who haven't seen eachother in years.

* Gintoki had a few hilarious naked moments with an unconscious Shigeshige.
* Chapter 339. The blow up doll of Gintoki Tsukuyo went to the movies with got into some hilarious sexual positions with the dude sitting next to them. The funniest part is that Tsukuyo thought it was the real Gintoki.
* Kondou & Taizo have a short bromance & seemed very comfortable with eachother's nudity.

* Gintoki and Hijikata fighting it out in a sauna with little towels covering their bits. In episode 166, they're handcuffed together with both hands while having to ride a motorcycle and using the toilet together. The show even lampshades the whole thing with Gintoki holding up a comic featuring the two of them in a very suggestive pose.
** Said comic covers can be found in episodes 92 and 145.

* This sort of thing is really par for the course for a JUMP comic. Early on Gin is willing to fight a giant tentacle monster while armed with nothing but a wooden sword, even knowing that it might cause an ''interplanetary war'' if he succeeds, just because Shinpachi is in danger. He also [[DatePeepers spies]] on Shinpachi during a date in what even other characters note is just plain weird behaviour. Shinpachi is always going on about how Gin's "samurai soul" is so beautiful and shiny and awesomes, and is regularly seen in a stereotypical housewife outfit cleaning up Gin's apartment for no real reason. Also, after threatening to leave Yorozuya in the Umibouzu arc, Shinpachi (blushing and visibly having been crying) mumbles that he's going to stay with Gin, and promptly scurries off in embarrassment. The whole scene gives off the vibe of a young married couple making up after a spat.
** Additionally, in episode 126, Gintoki draws the wrong conclusion from Shinpachi "staying up late and leaving lots of crumpled tissues around." He tells Otae he'll take care of it, and hires some "pretty women" to help Shinpachi. They leave a toy behind after they're dismissed, and Gintoki asks Shinpachi if he wants to use it. Later that same episode, Otae pops in to tell Shinpachi she'll always love him no matter what, and leaves some lotion. Keep in mind Gintoki and Shinpachi were the only two people in the room...

* Okita explicitly says that both he and Hijikata are in the Shinsengumi because they love Kondo. This might be in the friendly, platonic sense, but Okita regularly tries to ''murder'' anyone he perceives as too close to Kondo, or generally in his way to "Kondo's side". He has an angry rant in one volume that ends with "Hijikata always steals what's precious to me", with a picture of [[BigBrotherInstinct his sister]] and Kondo. * Takasugi's practically worshipped his (and Gin and Zura's) mentor Yoshida Shouyou. His entire motivation can be summed up as "revenge against the world that took you from me".

* Gintoki & Zenzou had a few moments. It doesn't help that Gintoki is a bit of a narcissist & that he & Zenzou have a lot in common, whihc could even be the reason Sarutobi likes Gitoki.
* Kagura & Shigeshige had some male bonding & some happy fun naked adventures.

* Shinsuke loved Shouyou. His whole world fell apart after Shouyou died & Shinsuke ook his ager out on the world.

* Speaking of men Gintoki somehow ended up in bed with, in the manga, in canon. There was a chapter where he & Kondou where in a futon out in the alley. Both were shirtless & snuggled up to eachother. Gintoki was smoking a cigarette, & they were talkign about gorillas & bananas.

* There was a chapter about altered realities where in one of them, Gintoki wakes up in bed with Kondou, & neither are wearing shirts. & it seems like if Kondou is going to be nude in public, Gintoki always happens to show up there.

* There's also a bit in one chapter of the manga where Okita has a meltdown on a rollercoaster, and begs Hijikata to hold him because he's so scared.

* I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Leukocyte King and Gintoki in the Tama Quest Arc. They both got up and close into each other's faces when they were fighting and they were doing that a lot of the time. Fighting that is.
