Fixing some wording; "trans woman" is the more accepted phrasing, with "trans" as an adjective

* Then there is the fact that the movie makes an open Transwoman the unambiguous hero of the movie, all the while avoiding most of the stereotypes. Something which most Western Media still fails to do to this day. Bear in mind, this movie was made in the early 2000's, when there wasn't nearly as much attention on trans people as there is today, and when most media on trans people was misinformed at best.

Added DiffLines:

* Miyuki's father was trying to reunite the baby with her actual birth parents. While he may have been randomly assigned the case, the fact that he's trying to help other parents with finding their daughter while he himself is missing his own is very compassionate of him. It seems as if he doesn't want those parents to suffer missing their child like he did.

* Miyuki has a dream about the fight she had with her dad that led to her running away and living on the streets. Suddenly, her mother turns into Hana and her father turns into Gin, acting as though they have always been living together, with the interior of her home deteriorating to match their current poverty. Considering how she starts the film insulting and arguing with the others, it's sweet to see that she's beginning to see them as her family.

* Plenty. Notable amongst these is the scene when Miyuki is getting along with the Spanish mother, despite a language barrier; it has a sweet moment when the mother asks after Kiyoko, and Miyuki says, somewhat ironically, "The baby? A gift from God," to which the kind Spanish mother replies, "Yes!"

* One moment created solely by the English Dub changes part of the scene when Gin wakes up having been dressed in a frilly dress. Miyuki's crack from the original that "The old man's come out", has been changed to a teasingly accepting "Is there something you want to tell us, Gin?" A small moment, but nice nonetheless.

** The fact that Gin's daughter and Hana's foster parent are overjoyed to see their missing family members again, and Miyuki's father has spent ''half a year'' searching for his daughter. The transgressions the protagonists thought were so unforgivable didn't matter one lick to the people who love them.

* Gin telling Kiyoko the Nurse [[spoiler:(his daughter)]] that he is relieved the yakuza lieutenant who got shot is going to pull through, even though he is the very man that talked Gin into the track gamble that caused him to be penniless.
* The ending is pretty much packed with this. [[spoiler:Sachiko's husband tells her that he'll shape up and that they can start over together, the baby is saved and returned to her parents, all three of the protagonists make peace with their loved ones, and Kiyoko's parents insist on making them the baby's godparents, homeless or not (which is even more sweet, when you consider how badly they were treated previously just because they were homeless).]]
