** The episode itself starts off with Donald and the boys simply having fun together, Donald preparing dinner and then watching a gory horror flick on TV with them. Considering how contentious the relationship between the four of them tends to be in this show (Donald being an asshole, the boys being pranksters), just seeing Donald act as a loving caregiver is a refreshing sight.
** The boys really go all out on Donald's birthday, with each of their gifts something they knew Donald's really wanted.
** The entire conflict starts off because Donald falls prey to a con artist who convinces Donald the boys are juvenile delinquents on a steady path to a life of crime. Donald's initial response to "Dr. Homer's" commercials are that the triplets are good kids. Unfortunately, Homer's manipulative enough he manages to make Donald paranoid. When the triplets later realize Donald's been acting weird because of this guy, they're outraged at him scamming their beloved uncle.
