* Emily shouldn't be in college during Pitch Perfect 2. This doesn't really affect the plot at all but film and TV can never get the school system right so I figured I'd just point this out. It's honestly kind of interesting because Emily as a character was created for the purpose of being a reverse failsafe in the event that the Bellas DID win Worlds and WERE reinstated but didn't have any existing members to carry on the group after everybody graduated. Without her, there wouldn't have been any existing members of the group after the second film unless Chloe decided not to graduate again. We know that the end of the second film takes place in Spring 2015 as Worlds is held shortly after graduation. This means that the start of the film had to have taken place in fall 2014 as it was the start of the school year, most likely August/September. According to her passport pictured in the third film, Emily was born in November 1996, which means she missed the age cutoff for the previous school year (as in, the cutoff that determines whether you get put into the older or younger class for your birth year; Due to her late '96 birthday, Emily would have been in the younger class with the early '97 kids as the cutoff is normally around September). This means that she would have been in the class of 2015, not the class of 2014, and she should be in her senior year of high school during the events of the second movie, not a freshman in college. I know it is possible to graduate high school at 17. I know it is possible to begin college at 17 and turn 18 shortly after if you have a late summer birthday. But I have never heard of someone starting college at 17 and not turning 18 until multiple months into the school year, which is the case with Emily. The error is present in the third film as well. If we assume it takes place in 2017, then she would have, at most, just turned 21 despite being well into her senior year.

* Did I miss something in the third movie, or did the two army escorts manage to lose track of the entire group for most of a day?

* Why is Benji backstage wearing a headset and why does he follow Becca, when she runs off? The competition wasn't at Barden and there was no indication he had anything to do with any of the groups in the competition. Also, he'd never been shown to be talking to Beca prior to this. He was simply Jessie's roommate and wanted to join the Treblemakers, so why did he care she ran out and why would he think she'd stop for him? The whole point seems to be so that he could see the backpack, but why did that have to be him?

** This is actually a dip into realism for a moment. In actual choirs if someone with a big part drops out it's often easier to bring someone in to learn the relatively simple melody of a solo rather than take someone with a smaller but more intricate part away from what they're doing and messing up the harmony.

** Mostly because Jessie seemed to have taken the lead of the group after Bumper left, Benji's his friend and from the beginning he wanted him in, as we see by his reaction when he finds out he's in the Troublemakers. As for why the other guys probably didn't see any problem with it; if you pay attention to the audition scene, everyone's positively impressed by Benji's singing, except Bumper, who makes a "ugh" face (probably because he considers Benji a dork). From that we can assume he was the main reason Benji didn't get in the group in the first place, as being the leader, his opinion had more weight. With Bumper gone, no one would have an issue with it because they know through the audition and because Jessie vouches for him, that he has at least a soloist-level of talent, which is what they need.

* Benjy joins the group less than a week before the finals and he's given an important solo, why? It's not like you can argue his voice is similar to Bumper's, because it's not.
