*** My understanding is that was Frank's old house and he just ran there from the airport for one final glimpse back at his childhood before being taken to jail. It so happens that his mother was once again living there, but the movie never gives any indication that he knew that. (His father tells him she's remarried, to a former friend of his, but he doesn't say they've bought back their old house.)
