* La Croix having contempt for Nick and his religion makes perfect sense in the fact that he predates Christianity (or damn near close to it). He also knows that other holy symbols than Christian ones are capable of harming vampires.
* La Croix's distaste for Nick trying to become human makes sense as it is a rejection of not only La Croix but La Croix's gifts as well as view that HumansAreBastards. It also is a form of extended suicide as La Croix mentions that if he wanted to die, he could just do it with sunlight or other traditional means.

! FridgeBrilliance

* Nick frequently ends up butting heads with La Croix in the flashbacks but usually ends up showing up with them again later. With the way La Croix stalks Nick and how he eventually turns back to his mentor at the end of the show, it's very probable they have a history of breaking up then getting back together.
** Even if Nick hates La Croix, he also loves Janette enough that he usually can be lured back by her.

! FridgeHorror

* Toronto has a large population of vampires living at Janette's club. Since Nick is one of the few VegetarianVampire types out there, how many people are regularly killed?

* [=LaCroix=] and his daughter survived the eruption of Mount Vesuvius how? Yeah they might have survived the rubble, but even vampires in the show are vulnerable to fire and a pyroclastic flow is how much hotter than normal fire?
** They could potentially have taken to the air in time to escape the worst of it, if they saw it coming far enough ahead of time....vampire top speed was never determined on-screen.
*** They were in a building which was buried, rather than directly hit by it.
