* Even if Mugly, the Scurvy Crew and Thugly weren't hypnotized by the Tiki Tak Tribe, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong still would have beaten them up due to the fact that they were [[BerserkButton eating Donkey Kong's bananas]].

* So the Tikis can hypnotize animals, and DK is immune because he's too stupid, right? Makes you wonder where the other Kongs aside from Donkey, Diddy, and Cranky are. Or the other animal buddies besides Rambi and Squawks, or the Kremlings for that matter.
* Squiddicus is already a terrifying creature, but "Boulder Roller" features a fossil that looks a lot like it, implying there is or was a ''whole species of that thing.'' And the fossil's eyes? ''[[NotQuiteDead They]]'' ''[[AndIMustScream move.]]''

* Mole Miner Max is fought after his workers, yet is the only one hypnotized. He's the foreman. The Tikis pulled a small scale [[MoleinCharge Mole In Charge]].

* At first, I wondered why bananas of all things were used to fuel the tikis, but then I realized that collecting 100 of them could grant an extra life. If the bananas can do that for Donkey Kong, then of course they could do the same thing for the tikis!

* All the tunes that return from the first ''DonkeyKongCountry'' have "Returns" slapped on the end (e.g. "Life in the Mines Returns"). The sole exception is the "Jungle Hijinx" theme. That's because the theme has been used in pretty much every ''Donkey Kong'' game in the interim, and never really "left" in the first place.

** Even better, ''[[VideoGame/DonkeyKongCountryTropicalFreeze Tropical Freeze]]'' features as the enemy a bunch of penguins, walruses, polar bears and other arctic animals in a Viking horde. Those guys ''are'' associated with water, so it makes sense that UnderTheSea and other swimming levels would return in that game.

* Retro Studios didn't do any water levels for this game because they found is slow, but if you really think about it, there is actually some logic behind it. The Tiki-Taks? They're made of wood, and some of them are on fire. What would happen to either once submerged?
