'''''Foxy Brown''''' is a 1974 {{Blaxploitation}} film, one of the first to feature a strong female lead--specifically, Creator/PamGrier, the ''original'' ActionGirl. Following the success of its [[SpiritualSuccessor spiritual predecessor]], ''Film/{{Coffy}}'', writer/director Jack Hill wanted to create a sequel that would star Pam Grier reprising her famous role. The working script, titled ''Burn, Coffy, Burn'', was [[ExecutiveMeddling changed at the last minute when American-International Pictures decided they didn't want the movie to be a sequel]]. The script was quickly rewritten, and ''Foxy Brown'' was born.

* CorruptHick: The two bumbling drug dealers that hold Foxy hostage are as backwoods as they come.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: The previously mentioned CorruptHick[=s=] [[spoiler:are [[ManOnFire burnt alive]] with gasoline and a match]] and one of Eddie gets shredded into fine paste by a plane engine.

Not to be confused with the rapper of the same name.

* AbsoluteCleavage: Foxy wears a red dress with this in one scene. For some reason, this scene is used in lots of the movie posters and publicity shots.

* UpToEleven: It's in the tagline DON'T MESS AROUN' WITH FOXY BROWN indeed. If her fighting abilities wasn't enough of a warning, consider what happened to [[MurderByCremation to the sex slave dealers]] and [[FreudianThreat one guy and his girlfriend]] which [[spoiler: Brown follows through]], the look on the [[MassOhCrap faces on those who learn the hard]] says it all.

** Once Katherine has figured out who Foxy is and why she has been undermining her operations, she decides to have her hooked on Heroin and sent to "The Farm" and from there to the islands to be pimped out instead of killing her outright. [[spoiler:Foxy manages to get free, burn the farm and the two men down and escape.]]

* FateWorseThanDeath: After putting a bullet through a few henchmen and dropping Katherine to the ground with another shot: "Death is too easy for you, bitch! I want you to suffer!" Cue anguished cry.

* PervyPatdown: When Foxy approaches Katherine for their final confrontation, the bad guys frisk her for weapons. They pay special, very through, attention to her breasts and crotch area (but miss the gun hidden in her hair).

** In Foxy's very first scene in the movie, she is first wearing a see-through nightie, then just panties. Then she puts on her bra and hides a gun in it.

* VictoriasSecretCompartment: Foxy's bra doubles as a holster for a small handgun.

* ButchLesbian: One aggressively hits on Catherine at the bar. Foxy saves her, leading to a brawl.

* PoliceAreUseless: When they are not [[DirtyCop corrupted]], Police Officers are nearly useless, as when at the beginning of the movie they do not understand that Link is trying to have them stay.

* GrievousBottleyHarm: Foxy hits a man in the face with a glass from a trashcan. He later breaks a bottle and intends to return the favour, but is stopped.

* BarBrawl: When Claudia is being aggressively hit upon by a rather butch woman at [[WhereEverybodyKnowsYourFlame the lesbian bar]], Foxy comes in to rescue her. After an incident with a bar stool (see below), the patrons come after Foxy, who starts kicking ass. The fight escalates quickly, with [[ChairmanOfTheBrawl thrown chairs]], [[KungShui broken tables]], and [[BreadEggsMilkSquick at least one lady's head going into a jukebox]].
