* JerkAss: Aside from Rickie and Wheeler (somewhat) and a few of the adults that ''do appear'', '''everyone'''. J.T borderlines sociopathy with the ''first'' thought he has when finding the [=Deadgirl=] to bang it, the bottom mentioned {{Jerk Jock}}s, and even [[spoiler: Rickie's love interest, Joann, who seems to find his interest in her as an annoyance and seems to treat him with great distaste despite defending him repeatedly]].

* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: While probably unintentionally, the story of a dehumanized, abused girl imprisoned in the basement does evoke the ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Sylvia_Likens Baniszewski vs the State of Indiana]]'' case.

* AdultsAreUseless: Try adults practically don't exist. This movie is like Literature/LordOfTheFlies with teens in high school.

* OurZombiesAreDifferent: The type and origin of the dead girl's condition is not revealed. While she appears driven to try to bite her captors, whether this is in an attempt to eat their flesh or simply as a means to escape is left unclear. Her bite is shown to infect others, however, which J.T. plans to use to find a replacement for her.
** The sequel script demonstrates that she does eat her kills, or at least one. It also demonstrates [[spoiler: that like ''Film/ReturnOfTheLivingDead'', the Deadgirl-turned zombies and possibly Deadgirl herself are virtually unkillable: neither complete dismemberment or even ''complete bodily destruction'' (via a wood chipper) kills them; the mess of flesh slurry on the ground just keeps wriggling 'like a mass of bloody maggots'.]]

* RightForTheWrongReasons: There are some very good reasons why Deadgirl should never be released, but J.T.'s reasons for doing so are nothing short of deplorable. Likewise, by wanting to free her, Rickie at least shows his heart's in the right place.
** That being said, any time Rickie suggests not raping Deadgirl, his reasoning is that they'll get in trouble, not that it's morally wrong.

* AttractiveZombie: PlayedWith. A couple of obnoxious teenage boys find a teenage girl FleshEatingZombie and decide to keep her as a SexSlave. Although they obviously consider her attractive enough to do this, she's visibly decaying and scarred.
