* TheCaligula: He already had the personality, then he got hold of the [[GameBreaker Black Queen's Ring]] and became the Sovereign Slayer. After being prototyped with Bec, he becomes even more unstable, and also has dog-like thoughts from time to time. And once he enters the troll's session, he doesn't hold anything back, destroying the troll's lands and then their Prospit and Derse while brutally murdering any dreamself who happens to be awake at the moment, as Tavros, Karkat, Feferi, and Nepeta find out the hard way.

* BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon: Hegemonic Brute is a towering brute notable more for his inhuman strength than for any particularly cleverness, and serves as Derse's muscle in missions requiring the application of liberal amounts of brute force. Fittingly, he's mainly seen using battle-axes as weapons.

* BizarreAlienBiology: Averted; though their skin are semi-segmented hard carapaces, with edges and complex joints, this does ''nothing'' to their durability, as they suffer from wounds in a nigh-identical manner to humans and trolls. They do have internal genitals and NonMammalianMammaries, but they have skeletons too, and organs seemingly all in the normal places, meaning overall they're pretty human.

The agents of Derse and Prospit and the royalty of those planets.
planets. Known as a whole as the carapacians or, more colloquially, as the "chess guys", they're a humanoid species with hard exoskeletons that are either bone white or pitch black, depending on their planet of origin. They wage an endless war for Skaia, with Prospit seeking to aid the players in creating a new universe and Derse seeking to prevent them. Prospit is doomed to lose this conflict no matter what it does; its in-game role is simply to hold Derse off for long enough for the players to come into their own and handle things themselves.
