* The various monsters from the books showing up in the new movie trailer. Admit it, you felt like a kid again.
* While iconic to the franchise, Slappy has always been more of a sadistic bully than a real threat on a larger scale. That was changed here.
* Several of Tim Jacobus' covers coming to life in the credits.
** Before seeing the film in theaters Jacobus, he didn't know his old art would make an appearance, so he was pleasantly surprised to watch it be brought to life.
* Slappy makes one final attack on Stine as he is sucked into the new book with the other monsters. Stine proceeds to pull him off and kick the runt into the air and into the book.
** Cue hundreds of 90's kids with vivid memories of Slappy haunting their nightmares ''cheering.''
-->'''Slappy''': Slappy's not happy!
-->'''Stine''': Neither is Stine, you stupid dummy! (''kicks Slappy away'')
** And Slappy gets an awesome parting line [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou to the audience]].
-->'''Slappy''': SEE YOU IN YOUR DREAMS!
** Also, who's the one to open the new book? Hannah. To clarify, Hannah was one of the monsters that Stine kept around due to his loneliness. Before Zach plans to open the book, he wanted to tell her about this. ''But she knew the whole time.'' '''''And she opened the book anyway knowing that she will be stuck with no way of escaping.''''' Talk about a HeroicSacrifice!
* In order to escape from the monster army besieging the school, Zack sends out a decoy bus, which turns out to be rigged with explosives. The monsters [[OhCrap realize this]] just in time to be blown to kingdom come.
* After acting cowardly for the whole film, Champ fights off a werewolf by jumping on its back and biting it, the silver in his fillings injuring it enough that it runs away.

Moments are being split among the pages for individual books.

!!The Books

* [[SugarWiki/AwesomeArt Tim Jacobus' cover art]]. Seriously, what do you think was the real reason kids bought these books? For the engaging, well-written stories?
* Gabe, the protagonist of ''The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb'', gets one when he uses the mummy hand he's been [[ChekhovsGun carrying throughout the story]] to stop the bad guy.
* Getting the best endings in the ''Goosebumps'' {{Gamebooks}}. Especially in the special editions ''Into the Jaws of Doom'' and ''One Night in Payne House'', both of which only have '''one''' good ending (or at the very least, one ending where you are not dead).
* Margaret and Casey rescuing their father in ''Stay Out Of The Basement.'' Particularly the TV episode, where they break down the basement door [[LetsGetDangerous armed with Weed killer.]]
** Dr. Brewer gets a spot here for finding a way to combine human and plant matter within ''a month'' And while being captured by his creations, he's able to maintain his sanity and dignity despite weeks of imprisonment, and ultimately [[TheDogBitesBack take down his identity thief with ease.]]
* Billy standing up to Uncle Al in ''Welcome to Camp Nightmare'' when Uncle Al sets up a manhunt against one of the campers.
** And earlier, he braves a raging river to save a drowning counselor, even though the guy was being a neglectful jerk.
* ''The Werewolf of Fever Swamp'' has Grady's dog Wolf fighting off a werewolf to save his owner, and then the Swamp Hermit, a RedHerring for the creature himself, carrying a wounded Grady to safety.
* ''The Horror At Camp Jellyjam'': After Wendy discovers King Jellyjam and the fate of the campers who win gold "King coins", she arrives just in time to stop her brother from dooming himself and finds a way to kill Jellyjam with ''his own body odor.'' To elaborate,this girl went up against a monstrosity that's already eaten dozens of other kids, has the entire camp at his beck and call, and still defeats him through a combination of deduction, leadership and bravery. And becomes one of the ''few'' protagonists to outright destroy the villain and save everyone else. Awesome.
* ''Ghost Beach'': Harrison Sadler seals himself in a cave with three murderous ghosts [[HeroicSacrifice to save the protagonists.]] So much for adults being useless.
* ''Deep Trouble'': Three words. [[CoolVsAwesome Mermaid vs Shark.]]
** Later on, the protagonist, Billy, witnesses the mermaid about to be stolen by thieves. He responds by charging headfirst at the thugs, hoping to distract them long enough for her to escape. Granted, it backfires, but this still takes a lot of courage. They're much older and stronger, and he shows no fear whatsoever.
** Earlier, when the mermaid has been captured and Billy's leg is bleeding from a shark bite, Dr. Deep is concerned. The kid responds by shrugging off his injury and telling his uncle to let the mermaid go.
** The climax, where a horde of mermaids show up to save the Deep family, reclaim their friend, and [[KickTheSonOfABitch give Alexander his comeuppance.]]
* In ''Attack of the Mutant'' when Skipper defeats the Masked Mutant by [[TrickingTheShapeshifter tricking him into turning into acid]] - the Mutant could turn into anything solid, but if he turned into a liquid he would be locked in that form.
** The villain himself gets one with his entire plan to capture Skipper. To elaborate, the Mutant takes the form of a young girl named Libby to get close to the kid, while his henchman(disguised as him) has captured a super hero. When Skipper finds out, he comes back to the lair, where "Libby" kills the villain, saving his life...before revealing herself as the mutant, explaining the ruse, then moving in for the kill. Up until then,very few villains in the series had displayed this much ruthlessness and cunning.
* ''A Night In Terror Tower'': It may have been offscreen, but the Lord High Executioner(a normal man) cheating Morgred (basically an Expy of Merlin) out of his time travel stones so he can chase his escaped prisoners. It really shows how [[DeterMinator ruthlessly devoted]] the guy is to his job.
* In ''The Beast From The East'', Ginger and her brother are trapped by snakes. Fleg (the Beast leader) shows up, and at first he applauds them for getting "Double Snake Eyes". When the kids make it clear they won't survive the attack, though, Fleg [[PetTheDog gently handles the snakes and frees the children.]] He's a monstrous brute, but he still wants to give his enemies a chance.
* In ''Calling All Creeps'', Ricky is forced to put transformation seeds into a batch of chocolate chip cookies so the Creeps (a group of lizard aliens who first met Ricky over the phone) can turn all the kids into one of them. Ricky tries to stop this from happening, but, upon learning that anyone who eats the transformation-seeded cookies will become mindless slaves to Ricky and the Creeps, Ricky (who's been the school ButtMonkey through most of the book) decides to give cookies to everyone, with the knowledge that those who tormented him before will be brainwashed into following his orders. A revenge fantasy (that doesn't involve guns) for the bullied and oppressed at school if there ever was one.
* In ''Go Eat Worms!'' when Todd pays his sister back for playing a trick on him by sabotaging her science fair project, a giant paper mache robin, by stuffing worms in the beak.
* ''Goosebumps Horrorland: Creep from the Deep'', has Billy Deep swimming to the island shore with a busted knee, whacking a zombie pirate in the ribcage with his cane, fending off a snake, and finally taking down the pirate captain. Turns out the cane he was carrying was actually the captain's leg, and he wants it back. Billy's response? He utilizes the spear fishing lessons his uncle taught him earlier, and sends the leg flying into the bastard's chest.
* In ''Deep Trouble II'', Billy starts to go inside a giant jellyfish to rescue Sheena.
* ''How I Learned to Fly'': Jack and Wilson are scheduled to race each other live on TV, and Jack loses his powers, while Wilson wins again. The awesome part comes when it's revealed that [[BatmanGambit Jack faked losing his ability to fly, so he can go back to being a more-or-less ordinary kid and be with the girl he's had a crush on for a long time, while Wilson is forced to move because he's still trapped being a celebrity]].
** Wilson gets his own flying powers by eavesdropping on Jack and stealing a sample of the formula. He then shows up his rival ''again'' by pulling off some even more impressive flight moves, effectively outdoing a kid with superpowers. Wilson's an asshole, but when he wants to be the best at something, [[{{Determinator}} he]] ''[[{{Determinator}} will]]'' [[{{Determinator}} make it happen.]]
* ''Are You Terrified Yet?'' has Craig Morgenstern getting payback on the kids who kept trying to scare him, and Amy, the girl who, though she meant well, kept putting Craig in those situations without listening to what he had to say. He also managed to team up with one of the kids' older siblings, whom Craig had accidentally knocked over and embarrassed earlier in the book. And no twist ending to muck it up!
* The second halves of every Goosebumps Horrorland edition have an extra story in Horrorland, slowly leading up to a crossover between the villains and characters. This is the first time that R.L. Stine has ever done something like that, to the best of my knowledge.
* Tamara, the protagonist of the "Broken Dolls" short story, does something ''incredibly'' smart for a ''Goosebumps'' character. When someone sends her a doll that's an exact double of the old woman whom attempted to transform her brother and herself into dolls, her immediate reaction is to goad her brother into breaking the doll before anything happens.
* The ending of ''How I Met My Monster''. It turns out that the protagonist, Noah, is also a monster, and the book ends with him going to scare his bully with his monster friends Munroe and Lissa.
* Evan saving the school in ''Monster Blood II'', especially him saving Conan. Not only did he save the life of someone who bullied him at every opportunity ([[UngratefulBastard and continued doing so afterwards]]), but he ate something he was terrified of that nearly killed him and that he had constant nightmares about in order to do so.
** Also, a very brief moment of Evan hanging Conan to a tree and crushing his skateboard in ''Monster Blood III'. It’s the closest Evan gets to getting revenge on Conan for all his bullying.
* Very brief, but Sarah proclaiming that she’ll return to Camp Cold Lake next year to warn the next girl against being Della's buddy at the end of ''The Curse of Camp Cold Lake''. She could have easily just gone home and tried to forget the horrible things she experienced, but instead she tried to save other people from going through what she did. It’s a shame the [[TwistEnding ending]] had to ruin that.
* The Morris Family and Clay escaping from [=HorrorLand=] at the end of ''One Day at [=HorrorLand=]'' when Lizzy deduces the Horrors' WeaksauceWeakness, preceded by the five of them surviving the Monster Obstacle Course and thus being the first time an entire group managed to live through the entire course. They're also the first people to ''ever'' escape from [=HorrorLand=] alive.
* In ''Please Do Not Feed the Weirdo'', the parents not only actually believe the kids when they are told about the monster, but at one point Jordan's dad at least tries to fight off the monster. It's a refreshing change from [[AdultsAreUseless the usual.]]
* From ''The Haunted Mask II'', Carly Beth demonstrates how much she has grown as a person since last Halloween by getting the drop on Steve and Chuck when they try to scare her, while Steve laments how she used to be so much easier to scare. This indicates that while Steve and Chuck never really stopped bullying Carly Beth, ''she'' stopped taking their crap for an entire year and they've just been pathetically trying to reassert their petty aggressiveness.
* In ''I Am Your Evil Twin'', Monty manages the trick the clones into helping him by exploiting how narcissist they are.
* ''The Dummy Meets The Mummy'' delivers on its title, ending in a fight between Slappy and Prince Arragotus, leaning hard in the mummy's favour. [[NewPowersAsThePlotDemands Slappy pulls trick after trick out of his handhole,]] but Arragotus keeps bouncing back to smack him around. The crowning moment comes when Slappy brings a dinosaur skeleton to life, and Arragotus just ''punches its head off.'' Slappy never gets a leg up on him.
** Slappy meanwhile doesn't take any of this harshly, since through the fight he's still able to torment the children.

!!The TV Show

* In ''Night of the living Dummy II'', Dennis pushed Slappy, causing his head to break, killing him.
-->"It's good to be back in the family again. Ayuk ayuk."
* In ''Say Cheese and Die!'', Greg Banks not only gets to fight back when Spidey attacks him, but actually succeeds in thrusting him off! (And this was before Ryan Gosling, who played Greg, buffed himself up for the title role of the teen series ''Young Hercules''!)
* ''Night of the Living Dummy III'': Rocky, another living dummy, fights off Slappy after being fully accepted into the heroes' family. "You are nobody's slave!" indeed.
** But the true moment of awesome is when Slappy is killed... '''''[[BoltOfDivineRetribution BY THE WRATH OF GOD]]'''''.
* ''Attack of the Mutant'': Skipper triumphantly mimics the Mutant's EvilLaugh upon defeating him.
* Despite that this was an example of how she was losing herself, Carly Beth gets the chance to terrorize Steve and Chuck for all the times they made fun of her and pulled cruel pranks on her in ''The Haunted Mask''. Gesturing to the sculpture of her head her mom made, Carly Beth tells the boys to apologize.
-->'''Carly Beth''': Apologize to her. Tell Carly Beth you're sorry.
-->'''Steve''': Apologize? F-for what?
-->'''Carly Beth''': ''For WHAT?! For every time you scared her! For every time you made people laugh at her!''
-->'''Chuck''': We were just goofing around!
-->'''Steve''': W-we only did it 'cause we liked her.
-->'''Carly Beth''': ''That's no excuse. And that's not how you show someone you like her.''
-->'''Chuck''': Give us a break!
-->'''Steve''': Yeah. Really.
-->'''Carly Beth''': Apologize to her. '''''APOLOGIZE!''''' Or I promise you'll wish you never met her!
-->'''Steve and Chuck''': W-we're sorry, Carly Beth. We're sorry.
** It's telling that when Carly Beth is saying how Steve and Chuck humiliated her, you can hear her actual voice and not just that hoarse screeching of the Mask, making it clear this is indeed the real Carly Beth speaking.
** Carly Beth having the emotional strength to fight off the masks and save herself through finding her self worth. The poor kid comes off as very mentally fragile, so seeing her triumphant is really awesome. Her actress should get some recognition for such a great performance, too.
* In ''A Shocker on Shock Street'', we have a meta-example. In the original book, we have a CruelTwistEnding, where Erin's dad, rather than saving her and Marty like she'd hoped, simply switches them off in a shocking RoboticReveal, commenting to an aide that these "test subjects" to explore the park had clearly developed faults in their program. That's it, story ends; our heroes were just murdered by the man they hoped would save them, and we're supposed to just not care. This makes the ending of the TV version, where Erin and Marty instead turn themselves back on and start menacingly advancing on Erin's "dad", clearly about to KickTheSonOfABitch, ''immensely'' satisfying.
* ''The Ghost Next Door'': Hannah saves Danny from a burning building...[[ItMakesSenseInContext by playing piano.]]
* The end of ''More Monster Blood'' sees the authorities arrive to contain the titular slime at the end. Some serious fresh air for a series infamous for [[AdultsAreUseless adults being useless.]]
** Furthermore, the Monster Blood saga is ended early, before it can outstay its welcome. Conan makes friends with the heroes, and Evan leaves on a heroic and far more dignified note than his book counterpart ever managed. [[MandatoryTwistEnding Mostly.]]
* In "Don't Wake Mummy", Jeff single-handedly got rid of the mummy.

#04: ''Awesome/FrankensteinsDog''
* The Morris Family and Clay escaping from [=HorrorLand=] at the end of ''One Day at [=HorrorLand=]'' when Lizzy deduces the Horrors' WeaksauceWeakness, preceded by the five of them surviving the Monster Obstacle Course and thus being the first time an entire group managed to live through the entire course. They're also the first people to ''ever'' escape from [=HorrorLand=] alive.
#05: ''Awesome/DrManiacWillSeeYouNow''
* In ''Please Do Not Feed the Weirdo'', the parents not only actually believe the kids when they are told about the monster, but at one point Jordan's dad at least tries to fight off the monster. It's a refreshing change from [[AdultsAreUseless the usual.]]
#06: ''Awesome/CreatureTeacherTheFinalExam''

#08: ''Awesome/NightOfThePuppetPeople''

* In ''Night of the living Dummy II'', Dennis pushed Slappy, causing his head to break, killing him.
-->"It's good to be back in the family again. Ayuk ayuk."
#10: ''Awesome/TheLizardOfOz''
* In ''Say Cheese and Die!'', Greg Banks not only gets to fight back when Spidey attacks him, but actually succeeds in thrusting him off! (And this was before Ryan Gosling, who played Greg, buffed himself up for the title role of the teen series ''Young Hercules''!)
Special Edition #01: ''Awesome/ZombieHalloween''
* ''Night of the Living Dummy III'': Rocky, another living dummy, fights off Slappy after being fully accepted into the heroes' family. "You are nobody's slave!" indeed.
** But the true moment of awesome is when Slappy is killed... '''''[[BoltOfDivineRetribution BY THE WRATH OF GOD]]'''''.
Special Edition #02: ''Awesome/The12ScreamsOfChristmas''
* ''Attack of the Mutant'': Skipper triumphantly mimics the Mutant's EvilLaugh upon defeating him.
Special Edition #03: ''Awesome/TrickOrTrap''
* Despite that this was an example of how she was losing herself, Carly Beth gets the chance to terrorize Steve and Chuck for all the times they made fun of her and pulled cruel pranks on her in ''The Haunted Mask''. Gesturing to the sculpture of her head her mom made, Carly Beth tells the boys to apologize.
-->'''Carly Beth''': Apologize to her. Tell Carly Beth you're sorry.
-->'''Steve''': Apologize? F-for what?
-->'''Chuck''': Give us a break!
-->'''Steve''': Yeah. Really.

* The end of ''More "More Monster Blood'' Blood" sees the authorities arrive to contain the titular slime at the end. Some serious fresh air for a series infamous for [[AdultsAreUseless adults being useless.]]
** Furthermore, the Monster Blood ''Literature/MonsterBlood'' saga is ended early, before it can outstay its welcome. Conan makes friends with the heroes, and Evan leaves on a heroic and far more dignified note than his book counterpart ever managed. [[MandatoryTwistEnding Mostly.]]
* In "Don't Wake Mummy", Jeff single-handedly got rid of the mummy.
