Took this out:
- In the season three premier of Heroes, Sylar is examining Claire's brain to gain its ability. Claire asks "Are you going to eat my brain?" and Sylar responds with "Eat your brain? That's disgusting!". This could be seen as a Take That! to fans who believed that Sylar acquired people's powers by eating their brains. That the fans had been pretty much convinced of this by what they saw onscreen — including a major season-long plot arc — seems to be beside the point.
- Jesus, thin skin much? It was just a gag. Obviously it was a valid theory, but as they had him do it another way (likely as it was later shown he need not open up people's heads to do it at all- he's just a psychopath), no harm in having the brain opening freak look offended at the suggestion for a little comedy.
It's more a smirk to the audience than a Take That, since the series had intentionally left Sylar's process vague and let fans speculate on what he really did. This scene was when the series actually revealed what Sylar did, and they acknowledged the prevailing fan assumption.
