LE Xicon 712: Did this series have elemental powers as well?

Arrow: It did indeed. Fire (Leo), Wind (Damon), Water (Kai), Lightning (Maya), and Earth (Kendrix/Karone). Except for maybe Leo, they didn't use the elemental powers nearly as often as their Gingaman counterparts though, which is why people tend to forget they had them.

fantasyleader: I noticed that in several places that it says that Lost Galaxy was more popular than Gingaman in Japan. I don't think this is right, as it is only explained that Lost Galaxy only had higher TV ratings than Gingaman. And TV ratings don't really show if a show was popular or not, rather showing how many people bothered to turn their T Vs on when it was airing. But who knows? Maybe Lost Galaxy was more popular. Or maybe it was really unpopular. Who knows? But TV ratings isn't enough to prove that. Besides, Gingaman was the second highest rated sentai since Turboranger to Go-onger. To say Lost Galaxy is more popular than Gingaman, just due to TV ratings, would be like saying Lost Galaxy is more popular than the majority of the sentai franchise. And that is definitely not true at all. I think some changes on these pages concerning this is required, as it is not correct.

Actually, ratings are an excellent indicator of popularity. They do more than indicate when you turn you TV on they're used to figure out what people actually WATCH, as in picking a show and watching the whole thing. And Gingaman wasn't very popular at all. The dub of Lost Galaxy easily outperformed its Sentai counterpart although that may not be any great feat considering the ratings for Gingaman were dismal. The US ratings for the premiere of Lost Galaxy held the record for the highest of any Power Rangers season for years only to dip later on due to objections to its dark nature and overall shift in tone as well as keeping mostly to its own mythos and steering clear of the Zordon-era whenever it could.
