Apparently, there's some disagreement over the Star Control / Slylandro Probes example, and what their theme music entails. This is their remixed theme music from The Ur-Quan Masters
. Now, is that composed of only the phrase, "We come in peace", or is it just repeated/mutated throughout? —KD
T Beholder: The original is mod, i.e. made of instrument samples. And most of those samples are tweaked "We Come In Peace" (the rest is short squeaking which may as well be the same, twisted beyond recognition).
BritBllt: Removing, because I can't figure out for the life of me what this is saying...
- A short story by Fredric Brown features a race of microscopic aliens, who are blasted by the people on sight simply because that's the official policy. When the main character learns they are nearly extinct, he smuggles them as far away from the humanity as possible upon his ship - at the cost of his own life, masking it by the same policy, which forbids leading aliens to Earth.
It doesn't sound like this trope, but if it is, hopefully someone who's read the story can rewrite it.
