Working Title: X words: From YKTTW

X words launched as Two Words Obvious Trope Discussion: From YKTTW

Kilyle: Do the variations "'Nuff said" and "Duh" get a mention, or do they not count by not being about numbers? E.g.: "Batman. 'Nuff said."

Fast Eddie: Certainly a similar formulation. By the way, is there any chance people will get tired of "N Words: Something" anytime soon? That would be cool.

BT The P: Honestly, a list this short shouldn't have duplicate entries, it's not into tl,dr territory yet. (To clarify, I cut a second entry on the Toy Story 2 incident)

Seanette: Sorry, my brain seems to be in shutdown mode (the decongestant isn't helping thought). "tl,dr"?

Servbot: Too long, didn't read.

Seanette: Thanks.

Andrew: I don't think the miscounting thing is limited to the ditz or the fool - I seem to remember hearing (for example)"Two words: Im-possible" far more frequently than "Two words: Not possible."

Duckluck: Incidentally, this page is not here to justify people not bothering to write description for tropes that are supposedly Self Explanatory. If you find yourself putting "Two Words: Doctor Who or the like in your examples, chances are you're being lazy, not clever. Linking to this page doesn't change that! This page was put up largely to stop all the "two words" crap, but it seems to have just made it worse! It boggles the mind!

32_Footsteps: Two words: not quite. In all seriousness, as the one who did launch this page, and one of the ones who worked on it back when it was a YKTTW, it was not launched to stop people from putting up "Two words" and the like when giving examples. It was put up because it's a stock phrase and lots of works use it - in other words, it's a trope. It's just taken to a meta level here by people who feel naming the example is enough, then linking back to this page. I'll grant you that I think people need to explain their examples better, but reacting a la Rant Inducing Slight is not going to help matters.

Chaos Vincent1: Hey, guys, since there are so many examples mocking this trope, such as idiots getting the number wrong, is there a chance this could be at least a Discredited Trope, if not a Dead Horse Trope?

Aquillion: There is discussion on the persistent misuse of this page as a pothole here, and a rename to remove the 'trope' part of the name (which is causing most of the confusion, since this trope doesn't primarily describe other tropes) here.
