From YKTTW

Kilyle: Does Night of the Iguana count? I don't think they actually use the title per se, but the whole depressing sum of their fruitless struggles through life comes into full view when the heroine hears the scuffling of an iguana tied to a tree — the kids intend to eat him later. He's trying so hard to get free....

Masami Phoenix: Does this include songs or is there another trope for that? Because I have a number of songs (and gripes) that fall under this.

Trimeta: I'm pretty sure the one scene in The Color Purple which discusses the aforementioned color counts, but I can't bring myself to read it again to verify. Plus I really didn't like that book, and thus am not qualified to say whether or not the title drop was particularly significant with respect to the rest of the novel.

TinaRussell: I can’t tell you how disappointed I was in Trace Memory for not including a Title Drop. I mean, seriously! Not only is the title cryptic yet dramatic, the game’s story included a project called “TRACE” that recovered traces of lost memories, memories which the plot hinged on the possibility of recovering! I’d like to mention Trace Memory in the article somewhere, but I’m not sure what the wiki consensus is on listing egregious absences. (It was really more of a crime against drama than anything else.) (Errr, a crime against tropedom!)

  • Fushigi Yuugi's theme song is entitled "Itooshi Hito no Tame Ni". Its last episode is called "For My Loved One", the English translation of the song's title.
    • Does this really count?.. I can think of at least one more series that does this, but... it's a theme song title, not the show title... this article talks about the title of the work dropped within the work itself, right?..

ViEf Is the word "mentalist" ever pronounced in The Mentalist ? I think it's not: and if I'm right, it's a notable aversion.
movie007: Should "music" examples really be included in this? It's actually far more common for the song's title to actually be in the song's lyrics, than not. That's why we have a trope called Non-Appearing Title.
