We really should fix the spelling on this title to Taking the Bullet. Wait, that exists, so why is this page still here?
The Avatar example is wrong, unless some spoiler has come out that I haven't seen yet. Zuko's never taken lightning meant for anybody but himself. Iroh redirected some meant for Zuko, though.
Fire Walk: Cutting, as this is More Expendable Than You:
- In what could either be this or More Expendable Than You, Franz in Gankutsuou (an anime variation of The Count Of Monte Cristo ), intentionally gets Albert too drunk to attend a duel with Edmond that Franz knows Albert wouldn't be able to win. Knowing that he also has no chance, he then puts on the armor, attends the duel in Albert's place, and is killed.
