HeartBurn Kid: Maybe we should broaden this a bit. I can think of a couple of examples that aren't from horror movies — namely, Vanessa from the first Austin Powers movie gets revealed as a fembot and dies early on, and in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation Johnny Cage gets killed by Shao Kahn in the first two minutes.

Prfnoff: Removed Men In Black 2, which is a case of Sequel Reboot but not this (since she's Put on a Bus).
Bring The Noise: Removed The Dark Knight. Someone from the first film dying in the second isn't this automatically. Has to be sudden.
Cy: I just removed a number of examples for lack of "Sudden." See Bring The Noise above: dying in a sequel is not enough to make this trope page. Heather Langenkamp in Nightmare on Elm Street 3, for instance, is a poor example— she survives 90% of the film. Also, removed some video game I've never heard of and can't recall the name of now, because it was listed twice. Emotional Paperwork or something. Damned if I'm going to actually check.
