Looney Toons: Damn. You beat me to it, Firvulag, but only because I had to stop and actually work at my place of employment. I wrote up an entry offline, though, and I hope you don't mind if I merge it with yours.

Firvulag: No worries, it looks better with more detail. I just couldn't let it sit there all emtpy and lonesome.

Idle Dandy: There is the odd individual, such as Idle Dandy's brother, who enjoys creating two identities to fight with each other rather than to have one bolster the first's opinion.

Morgan Wick: More common, though, is the alter ego (the one who disagrees with the sockpuppeteer's actual point) present a completely straw argument to make the "real" opinion look good.

Ununnilium: It's interesting how both versions of that sentence work, with the first having "paid" as an adjective and the second having "paid" as a verb.

(After a few edits, this comment will totally confuse people. Awesome.)

F Ast Eddie: brokenskittles, we can't render apostrophes in titles, is the problem.

Brokenskittles: Ah! That also explains why so many possessive titles seem to be incorrectly punctuated. Thanks so much!

Sockatume: I removed the following from the side-note on "Straub's ZOMG". I don't think we really have to segue into a mention There Is No Such Thing As Notability at every available opportunity.

Of course, there is a place where There Is No Such Thing As Notability, where you can write about a Webcomic and not fear for its deletion. This place is called TV Tropes Wiki.

Pastafarian: I don't think the Enders Game example really works; the identities were fake, but the point was to get taken seriously regardless of their age, rather than to make it seem like people agreed with them.

senrath: Agreed. While they were fake identities, they were not multiple fake identities, and they didn't use their own identities at the same time. Just the fake ones. However, at the beginning Peter did essentially control both, so it might have some relevance.

Balso Snell: In that section about Mc Cain, is that sarcastic comment about Obama really necessary, seeing as how there's no proof that they did anything like that?

Rissa: Straub link died. Anyone familiar with the story and able to provide a fresh one? It sounds epic.
Feo Takahari: Does it count as a Sock Puppet if the maker is a Troll and does not engage in Astroturfing? I'm thinking of a few fellows on the Spiderweb Software forums who keep coming back under different usernames every time they get banned.
