GewoonDaan: Seems to happen during combat mainly for men. Offcourse there are a lot of instances of women letting beatiful hair down intentionally or accidentally, but it seems that this is not mainly in combat situations. Maybe this trope should be more specified/split/whatever.. The ones I've seen most often are: - Men who lose their ponytails in battle to make them look more beastly - Women who lose their ponytails in private situations to soften them up/letting their guard down (most often a cue for a kissing scene)
I don't know exactly if and how these relate to this trope as I'm kind of new to this stuff, but I just thought I should mention..
