Anoniguy Just thought I'd get the ball rolling. Thanks a lot for the clarifications on my entries, Evilest_Tim. I was super tired when writing them, I could have been clearer. Though I disagree about your point that it isn't a real robot, but whatever.

Evilest_Tim: Real Robot tends to refer to things like Patlabor where the robots are semi-feasible machines or at least have the shortcomings you'd associate with a bipedal armoured vehicle; the Ranger X suit doesn't fit the 'walking tank' idea of that, being basically a one-man army bot with an infinite-ammo gun and a stack of powerful hardware up to a full-on wave motion gun. Also, I can't remember; was the ground crawler a starting weapon or the first pickup? I seem to recall the lock-on lightning beam thing was on the second level.

Anoniguy: You start the game with the crawling mines and the flame thrower, right. Now.. bottomless magazines, wave motion gun, one man army, stack of weapons.. sounds like gundam wing/seed. But eh, I see your point.

It's hard to believe this page didn't exist till yesterday, considering how fleshed out it is, suddenly.

Evilest_Tim: Oh, I did this to the page for R-Type, too. Love my classic shooters. :) Also, I seem to recall the Proton Cannon could destroy those 'invincible' mines, or am I just not remembering right?

Anoniguy Let me fire up the ol rom and see. ...No, sadly. Those damn things.

Evilest_Tim: Incidentally, while I have no intention of changing it, the manual does at least try to explain the silly brain-monster. Apparently the Rahuna have imported dangerous animals from Edgezone planets to serve as living weapons. That's fine except (a) there's only one, (b) why bring it along and then dump it in a river in the middle of nowhere, and (c) why does Homeworld have it's own Mount Fuji, so it's still a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment.

Anoniguy I've always taken the manual with a grain of salt - I sort of figured it didn't add up because it was put together by someone at Sega of America, rather than spend time translating something that probably didn't make much sense anyway.
