Working Title: Print Long Runners: From YKTTW

arromdee: This article has a big problem—it conflates the idea "is in print for a long time" and "new stories in the series come out for a long time". Being in print since 1950 really isn't all that meaningful. Even being in print since the 19th Century simply means most works of classical literature go in the list.

I suggest deleting the entire hall of fame section. Having new stories in a series come out for a long time is different. (And even then, we have to ignore Public Domain Characters like Sherlock Holmes, since the people putting out new stories of these characters aren't really part of a continuous series.)

Insanity Prelude: I almost put Baby Sitters Club on here, as it has well over 100 volumes (especially if you count the mysteries and super specials and side series...) but I don't know if it counts for two reasons: It doesn't meet the criteria for years in print, and I'm pretty sure a good chunk of it was ghostwritten.

Lord Seth: I don't know about the years, but lots of Animorphs was ghostwritten (though Applegate to her credit did write the outlines) and it's listed here.
