Burai: The example needs to be written clearer, or possibly just scratched. Was the Fortress of Solitude in the script explicitly set in the Antarctic? Because traditionally (i.e. the Silver Age) it was in the arctic, and IIRC prior movies followed suit with that.
osh: IIRC, it was also the Arctic in the Diniverse. It's been elsewhere in comics at various times, but it's a very useful middle-of-nowhere location.
HeartBurn Kid: That was my mistake; I had thought it was supposed to be in the Antarctic, but according to Wikipedia, the script had it in the Arctic. I'll go ahead and pull it.
Air Of Mystery: I'd like to shamefully admit that as a child, I thought there was a continent called Arctica. I mean, if there's one at the bottom, logically there's one at the top, right?...
Lots42: I'm not sure how to insert the classic Far Side cartoon where a polar bear with a Penguin mask is plotting to devour yet more penguins. -Finding- a link would help but I can't do that either. My Google-Fu is poor.
