Nezumi: It's been a while since I played, but I'm almost 100% certain that the identity of the narrator in Valkyria Chronicles is mentioned near the very beginning if you pay attention, making it not an example of this trope. I remember that I recognized the character when she showed up in-game as having been mentioned as the author of the book the game is narrated from, so I'm not sure how it could not be the case, short of my being psychic.
