From YKTTW Working Title: Mistaken declaration of love

Question: Does this also count for times where the recipient mistakes an innocent statement for a declaration of love? Because...

  • In Pirates Of The Carribean: Dead Man's Chest, Elizabeth (disguised as a young man) says to Jack, "I'm here to find the man I love," to which Jack replies, "I'm deeply flattered, son, but my first and only love is the sea."
  • In the video game, Impossible Creatures, early in the campaign, the main character says to one of the generic henchmen, "I have a proposition for you," and the henchman interprets it as a proposing for marriage. Hilarity Ensues.
  • The entire premise of Hayate The Combat Butler is that Hayate's attempted kidnapping made Nagi think he was in love with her, so she hired him.
