There's at least one episode with only one murder (Country Matters, IIRC). I'm sure there are also some towns without "Midsomer" in the name, though Badger's Drift is the only one I can recall offhand.
Also, is there a way to classify what appears to be a bias against priests or the church? From what I can remember, although I need to probably confirm this before posting, is that of the 5 priest characters we've seen so far, 2 have been the killer, 1 was a bitter old man whose only child was actually his brother's from adultery, and the last 2 were a gay couple and the first murder victims.
Lions Phil: I'm not really sure that rises above the baseline noise—-in any given episode, most of the named cast are going to be pretty "flawed" in some way.
