Midas Mint: Any objections to me including in the definition that usually the protagonist prescribes to this philosophy (if not initially or always then eventually or at the end) and the most powerful martial artists in a setting typically avoid fighting?

Austin: Most fiction tend to portray this as the whole purpose of martial arts. But I've read on one martial arts message board that martial arts were developed with the intention of hurting people, and the "honor" stuff came later and isn't truly essential to be good at martial arts. If anyone can confirm this, I think it'd be worth noting in the article.


Joysweeper: Where did that Men Are the Expendable Gender Pot Hole come from? Or Children Are Innocent? It's a nursery with women and children inside. They haven't done anything except cringe away, and Drask doesn't want them caught in the crossfire. That's in the quoted dialogue.
