Just not true, Asuka does not jump around looking for any sort of connection (sexually or otherwise). If anything she is notably indifferent to 90% of the population. Note how she acts toward that pile of letters in her locker, or her "date" (off-screen) in episode 15. Asuka really only tries connecting with two males and in the whole series. Kaji (the cool older guy, who knows what's really going on) and Shinji (the only guy going through what she is). The only 2 female characters she even attemps any sort of connection with are Rei (haughtily and with vast misunderstanding of Rei's motives) and Hikari (who can get along with almost anyone, and is the stand-in mother figure for the show).
