Rissa: Removed this example, as sources seem to say that it didn't actually disappear, just the phone and electric lines were cut. Pity, it's a terrific story. If there's ANY source for it, slap it back in, I want it to be true!!
- Truth in Television: French police discovered a private movie theater and bar literally carved out of stone in the sprawling catacombs underneath Paris, complete with electricity, phone lines, and a security system including CCTV and a motion sensor linked to a recording of barking dogs. When they came back the next day, everything was gone, replaced with a single note reading "Do not attempt to find us."

- In Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Keiichi finds a needle in his rice balls, courtesy of Rena. When Detective Ooishi asks him to find it, it's gone. This is because there wasn't a needle at all.
