Working Title: Your Cheating Heart: From YKTTW

Mr Etaoin Shrdlu: Changed the characters in the description to the standard Alice and Bob.

Robert Bingham: I couldn't resist throwing in the excerpt from that old Hank Williams song which named this trope.
Kilyle: A couple years back, I chanced to see part of an Oprah episode and was introduced to what was (to me) a new and unnerving form of cheating. A husband of many years works out that he's gay and starts making out with other men, all the while continuing to maintain his marriage for years, his wife none the wiser. This real life trend merits a mention, especially as one more weapon in the writer's arsenal, and because it appeared at least in Trapped in the Closet. Now, I don't think I'm fit to write it in, since I can't approach the subject objectively or sensitively... I vaguely recall Oprah giving the men the excuse of "I can't tell my wife or let her get a fresh start because my family and/or society would then disapprove of my actions" and, for that matter, I'm still stuck in the (likely erroneous) belief that this type of cheating exposes the wife to greater risk than other forms of cheating... so would someone else please include this info on the trope page?
Caswin: Where has the "long separation as justification" come up? It sounds even weaker than most of the other "reasons" to me.
