From YKTTW

Morgan Wick: I suspect this page will attract people with axes to grind who want to add a "real life example" relating to global warming.

Seth: Does that mean we should rename this The Al Gore? :)

Qit el-Remel: If anything, it should be renamed "The Cassandra," seeing as that's already an established term.

Avrom: How does this differ from The Cassandra? Should they be merged?

Earnest: This is probably worth adding to The Canonical List of Subtle Trope Distinctions.

The Cassandra vs. Cassandra Truth vs. The Jor-El: The Cassandra is someone who is right about a great many things, verging on infallibility, yet those around her rarely listen to her warning. Cassandra Truth is someone who has stumbled upon a great secret or danger, and their warning are disbelieved. The Jor-El is much like Cassandra Truth, but rather than be a kid they tend to be scientists or other researches who have discovered a danger or imminent disaster, tries to warn others, and is disbelieved. While Cassandra Truth is disbelieved because their claim is ridiculous, The Jor-El isn't believed because people don't like the truth he's presenting, and prefer not to believe him.
