Earnest: This how the Gold Heart gets revealed, and a usual immediate reaction of theirs: covering it up with threats of violence. Or to go by indexes alone, Jerk with a Heart of Gold is in Characters as Device, this is in Characterization Tropes.
Madrugada: If this is about "how the jerk's nice side is revealed", it needs a different name., since nothing about the name says "actions rather than characterizations". Relying on what index it's in to make the distinction is largely futile; lots of people don't use the indexes unless they're searching for a specific trope. But even making it into "The thing the jerk did that revealed he's a nice guy underneath" is a problem, because that's one of the things that Pet the Dog is for.
