Working Title: Swords That Kill: From YKTTW

Kraas: I took this out because it doesn't fit the trope:

Eol made two swords, Anglachel and Anguirel. Anguirel was Eol's personal blade and was later stolen by his son Maeglin, and there isn't much more information about it beyond that. Anglachel was given to King Thingol of Doriath as payment for allowing him to live in Nan Elmoth. Thingol lent Anglachel to Beleg Cuthalion when Beleg went to find Turin, who left Doriath after killing Saeros. Melian did say that there was malice in the sword, but there is no evidence that the sword was evil. It relished shedding the blood of Orcs but seemed to regret the deaths of Brandir & Beleg:

—"Hail Gurthang! No lord or loyalty dost thou know, save the hand that wieldeth thee. From no blood wilt thou shrink. Wilt thou therefore take Túrin Turambar, wilt thou slay me swiftly?"
—And from the blade rang a cold voice in answer: "Yes, I will drink thy blood gladly, that so I may forget the blood of Beleg my master, and the blood of Brandir slain unjustly. I will slay thee swiftly."
