Working Title: Evil is Mean: From YKTTW

Iphigenia: Took out the 'cliche-ridden romps through mediocrity' comment, which serves no purpose whatsoever (and no, adding a Take That! doesn't make it any better). This is not a trope for Complaining About Developers You Dont Like.

h_v: Removed "Or, Superdickery as applied to evil characters." Whoever added it probably should have checked to see what the trope actually 'was'.

  • The Karma Meter in Black And White is subject to this: As long as you take ok care of your own subjects, you'll be considered a good god. Doesn't matter how much fire, lighting, and boulders you throw at heathen towns.

fleb: What in the world does the above have to do with Evil Is Petty?

Danel: I'm not sure if the trope should be so negative - games rarely force you to do this, but instead offer you the option to do acts of petty cruelty. Some of the comments, and the description, makes it sound as if you choose a good or an evil path at the start of the game and are henceforth constrained; that may me the optimal way of playing, but games rarely force you to carry out acts of petty cruelty. You don't get much benefit from doing so... but on a few occasions, you do get a few 'evil' points, and if you're trying to get to 100% Evil for whatever benefits, doing every single thing that's evil - no matter how petty - is a smart plan. If you actually got some kind of super power for reaching some level of villainy in the real world, there'd be no reason to refrain from petty evil there either. So... I'm not sure if it's fair to blame the developers for this.
