Grifter Mage: This page really wants GIR's Doom Song as a page quote.

Seth: There is something woody about this trope, not tinny at all. Goooorn. (If anyone gets this reference i will be very happy)

  • Kinitawowi: Cariboooou! Yes, very woody! No, out there nibbling the croquet hoops. *shotgun* Caribooou... goooorn. (Python rocked.)

Travis Wells: I understand that There Is No Such Thing As Notability, but... At my university, there's a room labeled "UNCA Herbarium ...of doom!" Should I just come back once I've got a picture?

Phartman: If a member of the faculty put it up, it will officially be twice as funny as it already is. Let's see it.

xwingace:So should Dad's Army's private Frazer be referenced here?

darklordxavier: what about Gir, from invader zim, singing the doom song? if you haven't seen it, it consists of him singing "doom" for 6 months

wia: 'doom' also meaning destiny isn't a convention, as such, but rather the original meaning of the word (fate/destiny) that's been mostly forgotten over time...

  • Anonymous Troper: Perhaps my knowledge of mythology is hazy here, but isn't the fate of just about everything in Norse mythology, even the gods themselves, ultimate destruction in Ragnarok? That would make the concept of 'fate' and 'death' practically equivalent.

Seanette: Apparently inspired by this trope, I tend to refer to an especially hard-to-keep-under-control storage closet in my apartment as "the Cavern of Doom". :-)

Miss Hap: I just wanted to point out that after reading this page, the word "doom" has lost all meaning and become just a strange arrangement of letters.
