YYZ: I forget the character's name, but wouldn't the black doctor from Grey's Anatomy fit here?

Licky Lindsay: I've found that in real life. There is also a tendency among geeks to become a sort of "Dr Jerk", but about computers rather than medicine. The world is full of people who are so disgusted with always having to fix everyone else's computer that they act just like House or Cox from Scrubs, only without the justification that they are saving lives by their behavior.

Degraine: Some of us have a reason, though. When you repair and maintain computers for a living, it can be tiring to have to listen to the computer problems of family, friends...friends of friends...people in the local coffee shop who just found out what you do for a crust, etc. I try to suppress this IT Jerk tendency myself but it's hard not to get a bit testy when you're expected to magically know what's wrong with a computer across town that you've never seen and know nothing about aside from 'it won't turn on' or 'my printer doesn't work'. Oh, and fix it for free. Dammit Jim, I'm an IT technician, not a miracle worker!
