- The televison Whoniverse has had several of these recently.
- The last scene of the Torchwood Season Finale led directly into the Doctor Who story "Utopia", after a few (real world) months had elapsed.
- "The Sontaran Stratagem"/"The Poison Sky" on Doctor Who led into the The Sarah Jane Adventures Season Opener "The Last Sontaran", which, in turn set up the Sarah Jane Season Finale "Enemy of the Bane".
- The Sarah Jane Adventures villain the Trickster indirectly caused the events of the Doctor Who story "Turn Left".
- The televison Whoniverse has had several of these recently.
None of these fit the discription: ones a straighforward crossover, and the other two are simple "being in the same shared universe".
