Scifantasy: Moved from YKTTW:

Andyzero: Japanese Anime and Manga trope, this is probably a cultural note, but I'm not sure what it's from. Basically, a body is buried underneath Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) which turns the leaves of the Sakura red. CLAMP has done this more than once, and so has .hack//LegendOfTheTwilight. Is there a myth or something that this is connected to?

BT The P: It's a definite folklore connection. I remember in RahXephon, a scene with a single blue sakura tree (a mutant of some sort), being connected to the (literally) blue-blooded Mu race.

Uhl: Mochi's INITIAL attack is "Cherry Blossom Blizzard" but it's not the most powerful. His most powerful attack (at least toward of season 2) appears near the end of season one and is the Mochi Cannon. (Learned when fighting Gali of the Big Bad 4.)
