Ununnilium: Took out:
- In the movie Carrie, the title character was basically brainwashed over her lifetime by her mother. She obtains supernatural powers and goes crazy.
...because that's not quite the same; even if you do call that kind of thing brainwashing, she wasn't brainwashed to kill someone.
Lale: "Tommy Oliver, the first Green Ranger, had it happen three times." Wasn't it more like three hundred?
Daibhid C: There was an episode of Taggart that played with this. I can't recall the details, but I do recall Jardine getting a hypnotist to admit that, while you couldn't hypnotise someone so they wanted to jump of a cliff or shoot a friend, you could make them believe the cliff was a road, or the friend was a dangerous animal.
Biff Biffley: Aren't the examples in the dungeons and dragons bad ones as they're literally magic and not hypnotism? Though I suppose psychic "manafastations" (if any) that match the spells would be approprate. (I don't play psions, I can't say if there's any or not, but I'm just saying.)
