- The Sword Of Truth does not have lie detector abilities. (That's the Sword of Shannara.)
Because it's, well, not true. The first book established that the Sword could only kill those who were false (it was a bit more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it). Richard found a way to circumvent that, though, so that power was completely ignored throughout the rest of the series.
