Go to the edit page, and then change the URL to be the redirect's URL.
Relationship status: you make my xp5_giligz36asgv04a4 xp2_8e1t2kgz0c452The edit page for The Ring, or for the page I'm trying to create?
Otaku Unite!!!Redirect's page. The page has "redirect" as content, you can replace it with your intended page. You can get to it by opening another page in edit and changing the name in the address, or going from the Related tab.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI want to make a page for Santoro Gaming (a Let's Play), made by Matthew Santoro. I want it to be mainly called "LetsPlay/SantoroGaming", and I want "LetsPlay/MatthewSantoro" to be a redirect of the former. How do I do that? (I didn't quite understand the directions on this page.)
Just asking for the sake of a redirect I want to make.
Say we have a trope whose title is gendered, say 'The Hero's Boyfriend', but the trope itself isn't really gendered, unlike say The Good King. Would it be acceptable to make 'The Hero's Girlfriend' into a redirect for 'The Hero's Boyfriend', as it means the same thing but doesn't require a pothole to make the intention and gender of the character in question clear?
(Probably a bad example, but that's the best way I can put it.)
Edited by RatherRandomRachel "Did you expect somebody else?" Hide / Show RepliesMight want to ask in Trope Talk about these. Not all tropes are bigender.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUseful Notes/ can also get redirects with/out definite articles, right? (e.g. UsefulNotes.Gulf War -> UsefulNotes. The Gulf War)
Hold on, is the part about abbreviations true? The current example seems to imply it's alright to create a redirect for an abbreviation as long as the abbreviation is official. While I get what the rule is saying, the example is misleading. Since the change was done by a non-admin from what I can tell, do we revert, repair or leave it as is?
This happened because Tim had made a mistake. Hide / Show RepliesYeah. I've reordered the entry; clearer?
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.I think we should eliminate Rule 5 since we don't use ptitles anymore, therefore rendering it useless.
Edited by EarlOfSandvich I now go by Graf von Tirol. What about Portmanteau Series Nicknames? Are those okay, or should they be avoided?
Hide / Show RepliesI'm not sure what a portmanteau series nickname is. Could you give me an example?
See you in the discussion pages.Wiki to the rescue: Portmanteau Series Nickname. And this would fit under the rule for abbreviations. If they are official, like, say, Pokemon, then sure. Otherwise, no.
And as stated, Official means that the creators themselves use it. And not just in a blog or something, but something official, like the Post-Episode Trailer mentioned in the trope.
Edited by BigT Everyone Has An Important Job To DoShould we add a note that an Officially Shortened Title is an acceptable redirect, as an exception to the abbreviations rule?
Extra 1: Poochy Ain't StupidCan we create any redirects to tropes with The as the first word (i. e. "The __________") without the The if they aren't defined by that word? I'm asking specifically because of a suggestion for The Stool Pigeon.
Er, sorry about the Cut List thing. I mistook the erroneous edit for a bad joke. I can't delete or even edit the Cut List entry, though.
Edited by HeroicJayRedirecting Stuff And Things to Stuff And Thing is bad, but what if Stuff And Things is the main page? Should we cutlist Stuff And Thing as a redirect?
she her hers hOI!!! i'm tempe Hide / Show RepliesNo, we should not.
The reason Stuff And Things is rejected as a redirect is that it is Stuff And Thing followed by an s. Redirects of the form link + "s" (or link + any letter suffix) can be made with creative use of the curly brackets: {{StuffAndThing}}s will create a link looking like StuffAndThings without making a redirect.
But it doesn't work the other way — you can't subtract letters from a trope with curly brackets. If Stuff And Things is the real name of the trope, and you want Stuff And Thing to link to it, then you must either use a Pot Hole or make a redirect.
Edited by AnonymousMcCartneyfan There is a fine line between recklessness and courage — Paul McCartneyActually, we should delete these redirects. You can use the curly brackets and subtract letters using "|". Example: {{Stuff and Thing|s}} gives you Stuff and Thing.
This doesn't say how to make a re-direct? WTFFFFF
Hide / Show RepliesThe directions on how to find the code is there. It's on every edit page if you click markup help.

How do I STOP redirects?
I was wanting to make a page for The Ring: Terror's Realm, but it just redirects to The Ring. I feel like there's enough in this game to warrant a separate page, such as Always Night, Lampshading, and Adaptation Dye-Job.
