Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Are you going to report every single edit I make? I simply added a better quality image from my own archives, which is the full version of the same graphic currently used in the header of the P&C website. So it's not defacement, it's a relevant addition.
Author and creator of Peterverse Comics: http://www.peterandcompany.com - Peter & Company http://www.peterandwhitney.com - Peter & Whitney^ You're not above policy and procedure just because you're the author of the webcomic that the page pertains to. You just so happen to be the first time I've come across someone who's done that.
Edited by Stardust5099Peter, the site has a long list of standards, rules and procedures, which are not optional. Everyone with an account are required to follow them, authors included. Asking if one image is better than the other and if it's fine to replace, instead of replacing without an approval, is one of such procedures.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupMy apologies if this broke any standards of procedures. The guidance page for finding an image seemed to imply that posting in the forum to ask about an image was optional:
"There is an entire forum section dedicated to finding good images. If you're not sure an image is good, think you've found a better one than what's on an article, or just want to open the door for discussion, stop by and start a thread. Here is the introduction to the forum, and some basic guidelines for using it."
The "If" is what made me think that as long as the image was of good quality and relevant to the work, posting in the forum wasn't required. I only added the image this morning because I had a few minutes and realized you guys were using an image that is almost as old as the comic itself.
Suffice to say, if the step of creating a thread in Image Pickin' is actually a *requirement* and not merely a suggestion before you're allowed to upload any new images to a page at all, you should update your own help pages to clarify that. I'm not hard pressed over the use of this specific image (I only thought it would be nicer to use a more recent image, and one that directly is used on the website itself), but if it's really that big of an issue, it can be removed. I won't contest it. The original image is still relevant, just much lower quality is all.
Edited by PeterAndCompany Author and creator of Peterverse Comics: http://www.peterandcompany.com - Peter & Company http://www.peterandwhitney.com - Peter & WhitneyAdding an image to a page without one is free. No need to consult as long as the image meets the basic rules (no spoilers, no copyright issues, sfw etc.).
Changing the image once it's there is a different matter.

So...The author of Peter And Company (2005), who goes by the username PeterAndCompany, just picked a new image to replace the current one without going to Image Pickin' first for any sort of discussion. I've already sent them a notifier with nothing else written on the matter.
Three questions for the community (forgot to edit this bit when I added a third, oops):
1. Does this fall under a violation of Auto-Erotic Troping?
2. Is there a cleanup thread for that sort of thing?
3. Am I allowed to remove it?
