Does it bug anyone else that the game's been complicated so many times that the appeal of it's relative simplicity is gone?
Hide / Show RepliesThere are still archetype that emulate the old style of beating each other with increasingly big monsters. The Monarch archetype comes to mind.
I cut this...
- Badass Normal: Literally with Normal monsters like Alexandrite Dragon and Gene-Warped Warwolf for breaking the 'Level 1-4 monsters with 2000 ATK or more getting a negative effect' rule, and then there's these three guys, the former of these three having the highest ATK of all Normal monsters.
That is totally not how Badass Normal works. Yes, I get that they're called "normal" monsters, but that's irrelevant. The trope is about normal humans without super powers who manage to be badass anyway. Dragons, werewolves, and immortal black mages do NOT count, even if the game refers to them as "normal."
The character list leaves out the Junk archetype, which I find surprising given their prominence in the 5Ds series.
"Thunder King Rai-Oh. It can Tribute itself to negate a Special Summon, shutting down XYZs and Synchros" Isn't this inaccurate, because XYZs and Synchros are treated as their own kinds of Summons, not Special Summons, so cannot be negated by Thunder King?
"We can handle what is true, for we are already living it." Hide / Show RepliesProbably a tad late but, no, Thunder King still negates them. Anything summoned from the Extra deck is still 'Special Summoned' regardless of it was a fusion/synchro/xyz summon.
Alright, why do all the tabs at the top link to the show now? I remember the card game having its own special tabs!
Creator of the planet Vexus and DSBT Insani T. Hide / Show RepliesThat's because the card game was moved to TabletopGame.Yu Gi Oh.

Removed from main page, as there is a cleanup effort on one of the pages linked here underway and I am not sure what to do with this entry:
- Instant Awesome Just Add Dragons: The game's developers seem to love this trope, as several archetypes and series feature a Dragon-Type monster or a monster with a draconic appearance or "Dragon" in its card name as their boss monster. This would occur despite the group of cards in question otherwise not having anything to do with dragons or the Dragon-Type itself thematically or through gameplay.
